Studio City Lifestyle Magazine
Studio City’s newest restaurant, TommyRays, has recently opened at 12345 Ventura Boulevard. The concept is a local hangout serving California gourmet with a European flair. The owners, Tommy LeVasseur, Gary Blackwell and Ray Franco have a vision…to produce a dining establishment that would entice the local community, create a neighborhood hangout, and represent a destination restaurant for the many people coming daily to Studio City, while displaying original and sometimes local art works.

Master Chef at TommyRay’s Restaurant
Tony Romano, originally from Seattle, is the new Executive Chef at TommyRay’s Restaurant in Studio City. Chef Tony has added several new dishes including pastas, lamb rack, new salads, filet mignon and appetizers changing the entire menu.

“Tommy brought me in”, says Chef Tony, “and told me he wanted to make TommyRay’s the best establishment for families, friends and business associates to gather for a dining experience. TommyRay’s has a lot of fun events from Monday Night Football to Winemaker Dinners, but he wants to be recognized for the great dining experience.”

“I take my position seriously, with a smile, and enjoy meeting new people as much as they enjoy talking with me. I’m proud of the restaurant and our new menu and personally invite all to come down and ask for me and I’ll personally recommend your dish.”

Some of the new dishes featured are: penne puttnesca – traditional Sicilian pasta with capers, katamala olives, anchovies and crushed red peppers in a traditional Italian marinara sauce. This is a spicy dish and fantastic. The lamb rack, marinated in a Pinot Noir rosemary marinade and grilled to perfection on a bed of creamy polenta is drizzled with a tawny port demi-glaze and fabulous. The Filet Mignon is served on a bed of apple bacon comfit surrounded by roasted mushrooms covered with melted camfazona cheese and drizzled with red wine demi-glaze and is out-of-this-world. For dessert, try the new Molten Lava Bunt Cake with White Chocolate Marshmallow ice cream, it is super.

TommyRay’s happy hour is Monday - Friday from 3pm - 6pm. They offer passed hors d’oeuvres, a variety of menu items, draft and bottled beers and a great margarita menu. TommyRay’s has a Saturday and Sunday brunch from 9am - 3pm featuring Eggs Benedict with a twist, instead of an English muffin it comes on a little potato tart. Try the T-Ray omelet with chopped New York Steak, mushrooms and cheese. They have late nights on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until 1am. Thursday night’s feature live acoustic music, Fridays from 10pm - 1am is happy hour and Saturdays they have a live DJ.

So come in and eat at the best address on the Boulevard

The latest jewel in the restaurants crown of Los Angeles is the TOMMY RAY'S restaurant, in Studio City, located on Ventura Blvd. with an amazing and beautiful patio. This most beautiful place with an amazing architectural design and a wonderful atmosphere is one of a kind. Excellent location and a great chef - you can not have a better combination.

It is very hard for a chef to write about another chef but executive chef TONY ROMANO is something else: one of a kind very creative chefs that checks every table himself if the customers are happy with his food. Impeccable service, great staff, and a great wine collection on top of an amazing menu. The selected wine collection is from Cass Weineries south of the border collection and also wines from Chili and Argentine. The Hess Select Wines includes chardonnay and mountain cuvee The Bridalwood Wines includes syrah louis martini and Cabernet Sauvignon also a great selection of beers. A glass of wine is about $8-15. Once a month the restaurant organizes Wine Makers Dinner where food is paired with wine tasting, a real delight.

On saturdays and sundays there is brunch and when weather is the patio is just great to seat. Manger Austin Corbet and Mr. Tommy Levasseur who is part owner are giving a great service to the guests. The Menu again is very rich and I tasted almost everything on the Menu and each dish is a world for itself. I really liked the lamb dish and the fish tacos and there is a good variety of fish. Great selection of salads and hors devuars every afternoon for the early bird hour. Starters are about $12, salads from $7 to $17, sandwiches $10 to $15 and main courses from $15 to $20.

There is Valet Parking for $3.5 and also a public parking half a block east of the restaurant (or public parking on the street). Most of the Major Credit Cards are excepted. I predict that this restaurant is going to be very soon the hottest place in town it has anything one can wish. Catering also available. MORE...
